Summer Lovin' With a Garden Party

Just because summer is over on the calendar doesn't mean you can't enjoy the signs of summer inside your home. A "summer garden" party is still a fun theme to use for a birthday or shower, and a great way to bring color into your home during the gray months of winter.

From left to right:
This centerpiece alone brings instant color and charm to any garden-themed party. Change the letters to a child's name for a birthday party or "MOM" for a baby shower. The napkin rings to the right are a great complement to the centerpiece. Both were designed by Jen Sbranti from Hostess with the Mostess for iVillage. The tutorials for each (along with other garden inspiration) can be found here. An easy way to add color to your tablescape is with soda bottles offered all year round. Use blocks of color to give you a rainbow effect. (Photo source here.) This was a great find! A grass mat to set the stage at your table! These grass mats can be found here.

Bottom Row:
Details such as these retro-styled straws also add spots of color and whimsy to your tablescape. Photo source here. A very inexpensive way to package your favors is to save those berry boxes from the summer. Fill them with goodies and finish them with a bright bow. (Photo source here.) Finally, bring a few garden creatures inside with paper butterflies or birds. (Photo source here.)

  1. What a great post. I've seen (and contributed to) many posts about being ready for fall, but you just know that in the middle of February, everyone will be ready for warm weather again. These ideas could be a really cute way to get that summer feeling when it's cold outside!
