A MAGICAL EASTER TEA

Don't you wish you could be a child again? Everything seemed so magical and there seemed to be a very fine line between imagination and reality. Alberta photographer, Tammy Deren of Smiley Eyes Photography, styled what might at first seem like an Easter tea party for two special girls, but as you look around at all the details you'll discover some magic. There's Peter Rabbit stopping by to say hello with gifts.  A sprite singing a song with her pet owl. White balloons that become clouds, and more.

For those of you celebrating, I wish you a very magical Easter!

EASTER TABLE FOR TWO

Do you have your Easter plans set yet? I'm sure most of you are getting together with family or friends. Before you head on over to the big gathering, why not indulge in some quality time with a significant other in the morning. If it'll only be the two of you–even better–you can snuggle and just enjoy the whole day together! I love this sweet table designed and photographed by Connecticut's Kristina Staal. The Easter touches are subtle to keep everything elegant, while still being festive.

VELVETEEN RABBIT INSPIRED PHOTO SHOOT

To commemorate this sweet little boy's first birthday, Mom landed on the theme of the Velveteen Rabbit. She used fresh greenery from the garden as a whimsical backdrop and gave her son wooden garden creatures to play with. The white, clean color palette allowed the little boy to shine through in the photos.
Even if your little ones aren't having a birthday this is a great theme to commemorate Easter. Thanks to Tennessee's Red Boat Photography for sharing the inspiration.

CLASSIC EASTER BRUNCH

This blissful setting, designed and organized by Fairy Godmother, was inspired by classic Easter tales and is a perfect way to welcome family and friends on Easter. I especially love the vintage bar cart and different ceramic bunnies throughout the decor. The small bites of food prove you don't have to go all out with big hams and such to create an elegant spread. Thanks to California photographer, Tim Chong, for sharing this beautiful brunch that can be enjoyed by all ages.

EASTER CENTERPIECE USING CLOTHES PINS

When I started this blog I used to post great crafts and DIY projects I thought were pretty unique and that I felt all skill levels could do. These days with Pinterest, etc. it's become much harder to find those kinds of projects. I feel like we've seen it all. But this project from An Extraordinary Day has re-inspired me! This darling Easter centerpiece is different and really makes a statement on your Easter table. Find the full directions here.

DIY EASTER BUNNY WREATH

From a boa to a festive wreath! I love this idea from Crafts Unleashed. And it looks pretty easy to make. You could also use it as an Easter game by throwing carrots through the middle. Find the full tutorial here.

EASTER FUN!

Hi everyone!  Hope you each had a wonderful Easter and that you were able to enjoy some of the holiday activities.  There was lots going on around here and we had beautiful weather, so we took advantage of some of the festivities.

A local garden center hosted the Easter Bunny himself.  Not sure if the girls are too old for this now, but they indulge me!
Their favorite part of the day was holding the real bunnies they had there!
On Sunday we had brunch at the "Red Barn."  Cute place with rustic charm.  A lot of locals have their weddings and events here.
And then an egg hunt on the golf course! Siena won daddy a free lesson. He was psyched!
All in all, it was a great weekend!

Happy Easter!

I just found out this morning that I'll be hosting brunch Sunday (!)  So, I am going to take the day to dive into my Easter decor bins, start cleaning the house and come up with a menu.  But I wanted to make sure I stopped in to wish you all a lovely Easter.  And I just came across this lovely flowered Easter Egg decor from That's What Che Said that I wanted to share, too.  So pretty--you can keep it up through Spring.
Happy, happy Easter!  Rose Marie

Our Easter Scavenger Hunt

We don't really do the Easter Bunny thing in our house.  No big reason why. It's just something we never started.

We do however, have a very generous family that sends the girls a number of Easter baskets and goodies.  I usually just hide them and the girls go looking for them--always making sure to mark the baskets with who sent them.  But this year, I'm going to make it a bit more fun and challenging for the girls to get their goodies.  With the help of some fabulous free printables from Embellish, I put together a scavenger hunt. Each clue will lead the girls to a different set of baskets sent to them by a different family member.  I thought I'd share this idea for anyone that might want to try it.  And you can certainly still pull this together in time for Sunday.

The printables set comes with rabbit tracks.  I want the girls to see the tracks as soon as they wake up.  So I'm going to put the tracks down by their bed to their bedroom door, leading them to an envelope hanging on their doorknob filled with the 6 clues.  Yes, there are 6 clues, which means 6 sets of Easter goodies. (They'll have quite the stash by the end of the hunt!)

The hunt will take them around the house and even outside.  Here's an example of one of the clues:

This room is our favorite place.
It's where we eat and stuff our face!

In this room, go where it's cold and look on top
There is a special surprise from Grandma and Pop-Pop!

Cute right?  My only fear is having to do this next year, and having to come up with new clues! ha

How do your kids get their Easter baskets??  I'd love to hear any ideas!

Colorful Springtime Baby Shower

There is so much to love in this bright baby shower! The mix of colors and patterns are incredibly playful and uplifting–perfect for Spring.  The type and graphics mimic those of a beautiful children's book.  And I love how the curtains, treats and mama-to-be's outfit complement the decor as well!  There is a lot of great inspiration here too for your Easter entertaining.

This colorful craftiness was perfectly captured and submitted by Erin Johnson Photography in Minnesota. Enjoy!
