30TH BIRTHDAY BACKYARD CELEBRATION

This milestone celebration is a great example of how the same decor provides a different effect from day to night. The string of lights adds some flair during the day but at night provides a lovely ambiance. I love the memory questionnaires tucked into the table napkins, and how fun is that plate full of donuts?! It looks like the guest of honor had a lot of fun reading them during the party. Big thanks to Columbus, Ohio photographer, Jessica Miller, for sharing the special day–and night–with us!

DIY MAILBOX PLANTERS

Just because Earth Day is behind us doesn't mean we should stop thinking about how to repurpose, reuse and recycle. I love this project from Second Chance to Dream. This is a great repurposing project and pretty spring decor to add to your front porch - especially if you like decor with a bit of a vintage flair. Find the full tutorial here.

MAGICAL UNICORN BIRTHDAY PARTY

For this DIY party planning mom a unicorn party was the only theme that would be able to capture the magic of turning 5. Pretty pastels, glitter, stars and tissue decor set the stage. The kids were kept occupied by crafting beautiful paper unicorns, playing "Pin the Horn on the Unicorn," smashing a pinata and blowing their very own shiny unicorn dust! This party was as beautiful as this little 5-year old and her name, Bella.

Big thanks to Idaho photographer La Belle Bella Photography for capturing and sharing the magic!

FLORAL TRAY USING MELTED CRAYONS

You've probably melted crayons for kid projects, but how about doing it for this pretty adult acrylic tray project from Crafts Unleashed?! I love the way the melted crayons take on a watercolor look. She used her Silhouette Cameo to cut out the crayon floral shapes but I'm wondering if you could use cookie cutters? That would probably be easy enough if you don't own a Cameo, or as she suggests you can just use scissors.  Find the full tutorial here.

VELVETEEN RABBIT INSPIRED PHOTO SHOOT

To commemorate this sweet little boy's first birthday, Mom landed on the theme of the Velveteen Rabbit. She used fresh greenery from the garden as a whimsical backdrop and gave her son wooden garden creatures to play with. The white, clean color palette allowed the little boy to shine through in the photos.
Even if your little ones aren't having a birthday this is a great theme to commemorate Easter. Thanks to Tennessee's Red Boat Photography for sharing the inspiration.

GARDEN PATIO BRIDAL SHOWER

If you can find a charming outdoor patio restaurant like Cafe Amici at the Hotel Beverly Terrace, you're more than halfway there in terms of decorating. The traditional ambiance, vines and brick provide a beautiful backdrop to your special occasion. This garden party celebrated the bride-to-be with champagne, delicious Italian food, while enjoying games such as "How well do you know the bride" and "What's in your purse?" Thanks to Killingsworth Photography for sharing the special day.
