A SWEET SIXTEEN OF A DIFFERENT KIND!

This sweet little one celebrated 16 months with a fun photo shoot. Florida photographer Corner House Photography did a great job capturing this little one's initial hesitance in seizing that cupcake to being all smiles with mommy and daddy! Plus, there was something else to celebrate--she will soon be a big sister! Congrats to the family!

MAKEUP AND POLISH BRIDAL SHOWER

I love this bridal shower because you can really feel the strong bond between the bride-to-be and her family and girlfriends.  Plus, it celebrates some of the fun stuff about being a woman--playing with makeup and your nails! A couple of my favorite details are the "Kisses for the Mrs." board and "Best Friends" glasses. What great souvenirs from the day. A big thank you to Colorado photographer, Samantha Sais Photography, for sharing the beautiful day with us.

LIVELY AND LOVELY ALICE IN WONDERLAND PARTY

Alice in Wonderland parties never go out of style, but I think we'll be seeing more of them with the movie "Through the Looking Glass" coming out May 27. Who can resist though? Bold colors, whimsical decor, adorable characters and tasty treats--everything that makes a great party! We even did our own take with a Queen of Hearts tea party for my girls' 5th birthday. I love all the little Alice pop ups and figurines in this one, plus the kids had such a great time. Thanks so much to California photographer, Atiyeh R. Photography for sharing the fairy tale photos with us.

WOODSY WEDDING

This intimate wedding was certainly a family affair. All the details including the floral arbor to the handmade table used as a guestbook to the signs were made by the groom's mother and grandmother. It was a fun and laid back wedding that ended with dancing to country music and a 35-foot bonfire! Thanks to New Jersey photographer Black Raven Imagery for sharing the day with us.

PRINCESS PARTY FOR TWO SISTERS

These two sisters were not only treated as princesses, but they got to celebrate their birthdays with their favorite princesses, Rapunzel and Tiana. They turned 4 and 5 with a glittery celebration complete with photo area, tiaras, pink and gold sweets, face painting and of course, time with Rapunzel and Tiana. The photos not only let us in on the party details, but also the special relationship these two sisters have. Thank you to Washington's Kim + Kelley Photography for sharing them with us.

SPRING ON THE FARM + COCKTAIL RECIPE

Refresh, renewal, rebirth--all the metaphors we associate spring with are wonderfully depicted in this charming styled shoot by Arizona's Lauren Buman Photography. Farm fresh eggs from the resident chickens, a homemade flower crown for Foxy, the miniature burro, and sunflowers were included. Plus, a lavender coffee cake, cocktail and vanilla bean macarons helped set a festive table. Bonus--we're sharing the recipe for the lavender cocktail by Mint and Mirth below. Cheers!
Porch Sundays Cocktail
2 oz. Aria dry gin (or any gin you prefer)
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup
1-2 sprigs fresh lavender
Muddle the lavender with a shaker in lemon juice to express the natural oils. Add ice and shake hard. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with lavender and/or slice of lemon.
