Twine Wrapped Glasses

I love ideas that help you customize a look for your table.  This idea from The Sweetest Occasion uses some simple embroidery string or twine to change the whole look of your glasses.  The twine reminds me of straw making it perfect for Summer.  Find the full tutorial here.

Have a great weekend!

Orange and Pink Birthday Celebration

Brooklyn's first birthday was designed with love by her talented mother, Teri. The celebration was a combination of bright, colorful and electic details. A modern color palette paired with classic sweets gave the party decor perfect balance.  The bright details were captured and submitted by Renee Marie Photography in California. The stylish decor and tiki bar are great inspiration for your Summer parties!

Get Inspired in Aruba

This post brought to you by Aruba Tourism Authority. All opinions are 100% mine.

Living in Colorado, we long for the opportunity to sink our feet in the ocean sand and feel the salt water on our faces. Aruba is on our bucket list for a family vacation! My parents have been there twice and it is still one of their favorite islands.  What's great about Aruba is that no matter your passions or personality, there is something for everyone. Whether you're a foodie, outdoor enthusiast, beach bum, golfer-Aruba has you covered!  For me, I think I'd love to try horseback riding on the white beaches or just float on the calm waters... or what about one of those outdoor massages?!  Best of all, Aruba is ideal for families.  With 7 year-old twin girls, we are kept busy and running around! Aruba is a great place to de-tech and re-connect with the family.  I love this video of the Everlys family, who have been there 14 times together as a family!

And because we're always talking about home entertaining here on Home Confetti, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention all the amazing inspiration Aruba offers.  Once you've been there, you can easily bring a little Aruba home with you.  The culinary scene in Aruba is full of flavor and diversity. Classic delicacies such as foie gras and chateaubriand along with fresh Caribbean Catch such as mahi-mahi rival the most cosmopolitan cities. The style is casual, yet elegant.  The turquoise waters, limestone coves and green trails create the perfect color palette.  Here is an inspiration board that can help you create the right mood and setting at home.

Twister Inspired Lalaloopsy Party Game

When I was searching around for Lalaloopsy party games I came across this great DIY "Loopsy" Twister game at Paging Supermom.  When I showed it to the girls they were totally excited to have it for the party. I basically followed their instructions with a few minor tweaks since I wanted mine to be a lot bigger. (I know--excuse the bad wrinkles!)
- I purchased a 6 x 9' canvas dropcloth at Lowes for $10.
- Instead of fabric circles, I used felt. I thought it would help keep the costs down using felt.
- Since my playmat is bigger, I used 5 colors instead of 4.
- Instead of adhering the circles to the canvas with fusible interfacing, I simply hot glued the circles onto the canvas.  (This actually took more time than expected. I did two rows at a time.)
- To make the circles look more Lalaloopsy-ish, I made a few look like buttons.

Finally the spin board.  The ladies at Paging Supermom actually provide a FREE printable for the spinboard.  If you use fabric swatches for your circles then definitely follow their instructions.  But since I used felt circles, I just cut out mini circles and pasted them onto the board.  My circles look a little off since I used 5 circles--the template is made for 4.  Then I pasted the spinner printable onto foam board to give it some durability.  I attached the spinner a little differently than their instructions.  I just cut out the provided spinner a little wider and punched a hole in it.  I poked a hole through the spin board and foam board.  Then with a brad (round head fastener) I inserted the spinner.  Make sure to leave it a little loose so the spinner can freely spin around.  Then using a glue dot I adorned the brad fastener with a button.
We can't wait to use it!

Monkey Themed Birthday Party

I am bananas over all the lovely DIY projects in this monkey themed birthday party!  Mommy and Infiniti Foto professional photographer, Crisanta Mecate-Lopez, certainly put a lot of love in putting together the details for her daughter Lexi's 1st birthday.  No monkeying around-she did the glittered vases, printables, banana shaped rice crispie treats and more.  Take a look!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CB2. All opinions are 100% mine.
I fell in love with the dynamic design duo Robert and Cortney Novogratz when I saw their show on HGTV. Their ability to create a funky, totally unique space with a down-to-earth demeanor is so inspiring to me!  Their designs are playful and always unpredictable. That's why I am super excited to see what they've come up with for their CB2 and Novogratz Collection at Crate and Barrel.
Luckily, we won't have to wait too long.  The collection debuts May 2nd, and was inspired by their vacation home in Brazil. Sounds perfect for the upcoming warm weather.  Best of all, CB2 has made getting the Novogratz look afforable.  I have been loving the neon trend, and they've incorporated neon into their collection.  Doesn't their Rouge Coffee Table just give the outdoor patio a great pop of color?!  And how comfy does that Figueira Swing Chair look?  I bet you'll feel like you're on vacation sitting in that!

DIY Beaded Glass

Funny how I can forget about something so lovely, until a blogger like Damask Love reminds me of it. Case in point: beaded glass.  I love how it looks but I don't see it very often.  I could scour a second-hand shop and hope to get lucky, or maybe mom still has some in her china cabinet.  But, lucky for me/us, Damask Love shows how we can make our own using dots of Crystal Clear Glass Paint.  Check out the tutorial here.

Have a lovely long weekend!

DIY Geometric Table Runner

Wouldn't this be great for an engagement party or a "He Put a Ring On It" themed bridal shower?!  Such a statement.  And best of all, those geometric shapes are made with paper so they're great when you're on a budget. Find the full tutorial at Ruffled here.

FREE PRINTABLE: Lalaloopsy Party Invitations

We got our invitations to the girls' Lalaloopsy party in the mail yesterday. Yea!  I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.  Not bad for someone who is not a graphic designer, eh??  And after all that work, I am very happy to offer them to you as a FREE PRINTABLE! I'm providing them in two different ways.  The first way–you print out the invitation on white cardstock, then fill in the information by hand.  Here's the preview.

The second version provides editable fields so you can type in your own information.  You need Acrobat X Pro or Acrobat X Standard to use this version. Once you've downloaded the PDF from Scribd and saved it, click "Highlight Existing Fields" to see where the editable fields are. Type in your info, save the copy and print onto white cardstock.

And for anyone who doesn't know what Lalaloopsy dolls are, I included a small card with a brief description of the dolls and what we'll be doing at the party.  I got this idea from Pinterest here. :)

I would love to know if you use these!

**If you send me a request to have these emailed to you, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!  I can't send them to you without that information! **

Gift for the School Nurse

My daughter Renee has allergies and asthma, so we rely on the school nurse a great deal to help her during the day.  For instance, Renee needs to take her inhaler before P.E. class. So, I wanted to make sure to give the nurse and health tech a little something extra as a thank you for all their help during the school year.  We put together this little "Summer First Aid" kit for each of them.  I was originally going to put everything in a First Aid box, but when I saw that adorable tote in Targets Red Spot bin ($1.50!) I thought the ladies would get more use out of that instead.  We're packing the tote with a few useful goodies for the summer, like an insulated cup, snack, lip balm and sunscreen.  Renee can't wait to give it to them!

Lil' Cowboy Baby Shower

In great anticipation for the arrival of their new son, parents Nick and Dawn threw a co-ed family and friends baby shower at their new home in Arizona. Co-workers did an amazing job creating the decor for the event.  The diaper carriage and fabric cake centerpiece are particularly amazing!  Fun interactive games kept the adults and kids entertained. Big thanks to J Lyn Photography for taking and sharing the details from this special day!

Pom Pom Banner

Different sized poms give this banner such a great texture and adds a lot of fun over the standard letter banners you buy in stores.  These pom pom banners can be bought here on etsy.  But if you wanna try your DIY hand at making one, you can probably hot glue the poms to cardboard letters. Then attach the letters to a string.  Great for a rainbow party or fiesta!
