TODAY'S TAKEAWAY: BIG FLOWER BACKDROP

Although my wedding is far behind me I still enjoy looking at people's wedding reception photos online.  Mainly for party ideas.  Weddings are so much more creative now than when I got married–or maybe it's just because I wasn't aware of any great wedding blogs 12 years ago!  Here is a great backdrop from a Green Wedding Shoes feature using big paper flowers that can really be used for any occasion–especially for a party you might be planning this spring.  I also found a tutorial for making those big pleated paper flowers at 100 Layer Cake.

PERFECTLY DETAILED MICKEY MOUSE PARTY

This DIY Mickey Mouse party certainly made kids feel like they were in the happiest place on Earth! The red, black, yellow and white colors in bold patterns and decor set the perfect backdrop to welcome kids of all ages.  The wreath and topiaries were all created by mom.  I love the way she incorporated clever little sayings throughout the party.  The kids enjoyed a bounce house and perfectly detailed treats.  I'm so grateful to Renee Marie Photography for capturing the fun details and sharing them with us! TRENDY VALENTINES FOR BOY AND GIRL (FREE PRINTABLES)

The Valentines cards and candy are out on store shelves which makes me immediately start to think about classroom Valentines.  I don't know about your world, but in my world Rainbow Loom is the biggest thing with my girls and their friends.  They come back from school with new bracelets on their wrists and the bands are a big gift item. (And yes, I realize there are plenty of boys that like Rainbow Loom bracelets too! I'm including them as well.) My nephews are way into Minecraft!  In fact, I gave them Minecraft foam toys as part of their Christmas gifts this year.  So, with that said---I thought these were very fitting classroom Valentines for kids to hand out this year that I wanted to share.

If it's too much for your child to make enough bracelets for the entire class, then attach a small cellophane bag of loom bands instead.

ROMANTIC HOME WEDDING

Valentine's Day is just about a month away and what better way to get inspired than to revel in a couple's wedding photos?! This one is extra special because it took place at the couple's stunning home. They used a green and pink color palette to transform their home, with flowers designed by Laurel Wood Designs.  Towards the end of the day, the groom surprised his new wife with a trip to Tahiti!  How's that for a happy ending?!  Thanks to Erin Nicastro Photography in New Jersey for taking and submitting the photos.

TERRIFIC TANGLED PARTY

When little Addison turned 6 she celebrated with a party... fit for a princess! This amazing DIY party recreated the story of Rapunzel from Tangled with clever quotes from the movie, flower garlands and Tangled's signature purple and yellow colors. Each girl was greeted with their own braided yarn clip and enjoyed fancy Tangled-inspired treats. Check out the cake! A visit from Rapunzel herself highlighted the day as she delighted guests with a story, puppet show and face painting.
