Here is a project I've been working on for quite a while. And I'm so excited that I actually finished it in time to mail out for Mother's Day. It's a cookbook comprised of recipes from all the moms on my mom's side of the family. Coming from an Italian family, most everything is centered around food. With the unfortunate recent losses of a couple of family members, it suddenly became important to me to try to preserve some family recipes--and memories--to pass them on to the next generation. I asked each woman for a recipe around the holidays, hoping they'd think I wanted it to for holiday entertaining. The front of the book is above. The book emasures 8" x 8." I made it compact so it could be easily stored away in the kitchen.
I started the book with an intro letter. That's me and my mom on my wedding day. :)
There are looong recipes
Short recipes
And some photos
All the art for the scrapbook pages are free downloadable scrapbook kits from a great site called
Shabby Princess. You really must check it out! Their designs work great for invites too. My husband is a printer, so I am lucky to have that resource. He printed and binded them for me.
I am so excited to get these off in the mail. I know each woman will cherish it. And I hope that we're able to add to it every year with recipes from new moms!
Do you have a special gift planned for Mother's Day? I'd love for you to share it!
