Lollipop "Cake"

These days many people are using other types of treats to celebrate a birthday: cookie pies, cupcakes, donut cakes, etc. But, if you still want to have the "cake" represented at your party, this is a fun idea By Stephanie Lynn. And as she points out, it's an allergen-free cake that everyone can enjoy, too.  Find the full tutorial here.

Halloween Candy Pouches

I'm starting to plan my daughter's Halloween class party, which makes me start thinking about classroom favors and treats.  These would be so perfect to hand out to class friends, or if you're really motivated–on Halloween night.  These cute candy critters are from Keeping it Simple.  You can find the full tutorial here.

Have a great weekend!

I love this party because it totally shows how you don't have to go completely over the (big) top to make a birthday special, fun and colorful.  Personalized touches like the photo banner, smash cake and unique birthday hat put the spotlight where it should be – on the birthday boy! Big thanks to Suzanne McNeil Photograhy for submitting these fabulous photos of little Zeb's 1st birthday!

Although I've been sharing Halloween ideas on Facebook, I wanted to try to wait until October 1st to post them here on the blog.  But there have been so many fun ideas already popping up, I think I need to get started!  Here's one I've been hanging onto for a while now from Raining Hot Coupons... this fun candy corn drink that would make such a great visual on any Halloween table! (And since I know you're wondering what that is at the bottom–I'll tell you–it's Jello!)  Find the other ingredients and full directions here.

This young couple celebrated their special day amidst beautiful greenery at the Frog Pond Village.  Beautiful setting with faux frogs making appearances around the venue.  Purple touches were in the flowers, tablecloths and decor. And wait until you see the cakes!  Each cake was very indicative of the bride and groom's personalities.  Thank you to Dan and Melissa Photography in Michigan for sharing the gorgeous photos.

Happy fall y'all!  If you're holding on to the last bit of warm evenings you might want to try this great recycling idea from (easy) Paper Crafts.  Or pin this idea for next summer. Using a water bottle, frosted spray paint and battery operated tea lights, you can create some soft lighting for your outdoor entertaining.  Find the full tutorial here.

I've been feeling like I could use one of these parties right now! This adorable spa party was given in honor of Molly's 8th birthday. It included everything you need for a perfect spa day: custom robes, facials, pedicures, massages and more! Personally, I ooh'd at the detail on the cupcakes, and the nail polish treats are almost too cute to eat! Thank you to we do wedding photography in Georgia for capturing all the fun details, and sharing them with us!

Use the BISSEL PowerGlide® With LiftOff® Technology to Get Party Ready

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of BISSELL Homecare, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t know about you, but I consider Halloween the beginning of the holiday season. And Halloween isn’t that far off!  Blogland is already buzzing with spooktacular Halloween ideas!  If you’re like me, you love the holiday planning, but the cleaning is a necessary evil.  I want it to be quick and painless! I live in a very dry climate and it seems that as soon as I clean, the dust reappears 48 hours later! So,  I always have touch-ups to do the day before any guests arrive.

Holiday Entertaining Essential: The BISSEL PowerGlide® with LiftOff® Technology

The new BISSEL PowerGlide® with LiftOff® Technology is perfect for large and small cleaning jobs.  So, you can use it to get the house completely party ready for the holidays!

When I’m having a party I split the cleaning over three days.  Three days before the party I start with the areas that might or might not get seen--like the upstairs.  Even though the party will be downstairs, you still want the upstairs clean just in case someone decides to wander upstairs to use the bathroom (!)  The BISSEL is lightweight enough to easily get up and down the stairs, and powerful enough to tackle large carpet areas.  Then two days before the party I conquer the main areas. The BISSEL PowerGlide® has a 27-foot cord which lets you cover a large area at one time. I’ll also do mantels, TV stands and other countertops, which the BISSEL TurboBrush® can help you with. The day before the party I attack the most important areas, like the main bathroom, so everything is freshly cleaned. I also clean all the serving trays and glasses that will be used. The BISSEL PowerGlide®’s slim style makes it easy to store almost anywhere to make it accessible during the party just in case you need to whip it out to take care of any party messes!  After all, it isn’t a party until a mess has been made! Get out your mystery magnifying glasses, because you'll want to clearly see all the wonderful colors and details of this totally fun Scooby Doo birthday party! The party was designed and hosted by Vixen Made for her daughter's 6th birthday.  I was so happy she let me share the party with you all here.  Some of the amazing details include the Mystery Machine photo prop, bold purple and orange backdrop (would you believe those flowers are from the Dollar Store that she painted?!) and the cake!  Once you've gone through these photos, make sure to visit her own blog here where she shares more photos and info.
