A SPECIAL 80TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Turning 80 is definitely cause to celebrate! I love the use of personal photos infused into the decor throughout this milestone celebration and the great homemade hats that I'm guessing are adorned with items that the birthday boy loves. With entertainment for young and old, it looks like a great time was had by all. Thanks to DCM Photography in Texas for sharing the fun with us!

ICE CREAM WREATH

I am definitely pinning this for Christmas! The wreath is made up of strawberries and cookies but how festive would this look with just some greenery added?  Serve it on a pretty tray or a covered cutting board to easily transport it.  Find the full recipe here at Style Me Pretty Living.

SNOWFLAKE THEMED CAKE SMASH

With all the Frozen birthday parties I've been seeing around blogland, I thought this would be a good inspirational photo shoot to share–even if we're still in the middle of summer. The colors used in this photo shoot are even perfect for an Arendelle setting or party. This little cutie enjoyed smashing her cake for her big first birthday and gave photographer Kristeen Marie of Indiana some great and fun poses to work with! Thank you Kristeen for sharing them with us!

BLUE, PURPLE AND GOLD ROYAL BABY SHOWER

One of the things I love about the Indian culture is the vibrant colors they use. The blue and purple color palette with gold accents in this baby shower really makes an impact. Held at the Indian restaurant Diya in Tyson's Corner, Virginia, they also made the co-ed shower fun for all with a "Guess Who?" game and onesie decorating for the new baby. Thank you to Cavin Elizabeth Photography in Virginia for sharing the celebratory photos.

TODAY'S TAKEAWAY: CREPE PAPER TENT

You know I love any easy and inexpensive DIY party project! Check out this "magical bubble house" Kent Heartstrings made for a birthday party. The strands of crepe paper are wrapped around and held down by heavy sticks.  This is a great idea for a fairy or tea party, or use brown or green crepe paper for a camping party. Find the full party here.
