I love finding products that give me a head start with any DIY project. That's why I was so happy to find these pre-made pallet pieces at Walmart. There are two different sizes, with prices from $9.97 to $14.97. Saves you from sanding and nailing together the plank pieces. You'll also notice that the smaller versions are offered in different finishes. A great deal!

DIY MAILBOX PLANTERS

Just because Earth Day is behind us doesn't mean we should stop thinking about how to repurpose, reuse and recycle. I love this project from Second Chance to Dream. When I started this blog I used to post great crafts and DIY projects I thought were pretty unique and that I felt all skill levels could do. These days with Pinterest, etc. it's become much harder to find those kinds of projects. I feel like we've seen it all. But this project from An Extraordinary Day has re-inspired me! BEAUTIFUL BRUNCH INSPIRATION WITH LEMONS, GREENERY AND MORE

With the start of spring comes the start of fresh party themes. PINTEREST WIN: "GIVE THANKS" BLOCKS

I wasn't planning on sharing this project on the blog, but I received so many questions and engagement when I posted it on my personal Facebook page, I thought I better!

A few weeks ago I hosted a craft night with some new gal pals. I needed to do something fairly easy but have it also be something we could actually use. I had pinned this project from Crystal and Co. quite a while ago. You can find the full directions here. She makes the project super easy because she provides the printables for free! There were no stencils to use or vinyl to cut. The most work was actually done by my husband who helped me cut the wood into blocks and I sanded down the edges.

The one thing I will warn you about is make sure not to use too much Mod Podge underneath the printables, otherwise you'll get bad bubbles. You just need a thin coat underneath and on top to adhere them onto the blocks.

I have my blocks on the mantle and love it! Another one of the ladies has them on a side table in her entryway and it looks great. Such a nice greeting for guests!

DIY EASTER BUNNY WREATH

From a boa to a festive wreath! I love this idea from Crafts Unleashed. And it looks pretty easy to make. You could also use it as an Easter game by throwing carrots through the middle. Find the full tutorial here.

TIN CAN HOLIDAY DECOR

If you've found yourself with a small collection of cookie tins from past holidays, here's a great way from Croissant and Lavender to repurpose them. Use them as candle holders to give your room a soft "silent night" glow. She used tuna cans but if you use holiday tins, they're already pre-decorated! I'd also recommend battery operated tea lights, especially if you want to keep them on for a while. Find the full tutorial here.

PAINTED SANTA LOGS

So, I've been looking for different ideas for the front porch (you can check out my Christmas Front Porch Ideas Pinterest board here). I came across this adorable idea from Smart Girls DIY. I called them Santa Logs, but they're really Danish Nisse Logs. Best part is I actually have a few thick stumps from a couple of trees we cut down over the summer. I didn't know what I was going to do with them, but I might take on this project. I can turn the logs into Santas, as done here, but also into angels or elves. I'll have to see.  Stay tuned! CHRISTMAS DECOR FOR EVERY ROOM

Now that Halloween is over, no doubt you're putting some thought into your winter holiday decor. If you're anything like this Alaskan family, it can literally take you days, if not a full week to get it all up! Every window, room and hall has been decked out for Christmas–offering us plenty of inspiration for our own homes. I love all the greenery and I especially love the TOY sign in the front entrance. DIY WINTER WREATH

Bummed you had to take down all the Christmas decorations? Keep your front door feeling festive with a winter wreath. I actually just found a plain white wreath at Michael's yesterday on clearance for $1.92! I can't wait to spruce it up a bit and hang it up. This is a cute door hanging idea from DIY Inspired. TWIG AND BERRIES FALL DOOR DECOR

Happy Fall y'all! (It also happens to be my 13th wedding anniversary today. Crazy!) With the new season comes the excuse to re-decorate, or at least add a few fun fall accents to your home.  I love this easy project from Average But Inspired. DIY FLOWER NAPKIN RINGS

With just a few items you can buy from the dollar store, you can end up with these pretty napkin ring holders from The Chic Site. Use this idea to dress up a Mother's Day brunch.  Then, tailor the idea for the fall by using mums or other fall foliage.  Find the full tutorial here.

EGG CARTON FLOWER FRAME

I thought I'd share this great repurposing project today for Earth Day.  I have to say I was pretty stunned when I learned this frame was made with egg cartons.  I even blew the photo up to take a closer look! RUSTIC VINTAGE TABLE SETTING

Peak wedding season is approaching fast.  This silver and shimmery vintage table photographed and submitted by BeautifulU Photo creates a gorgeous setting for an engagement party, wedding or bridal shower. I love how the paper flowers decorate the table but are also used as curtain ties for a cohesive look.  (You can visit here for a great roundup of DIY paper flowers.) Details like the pearls and baby's breath really give it the perfect feel for a wedding.

RENEE'S PARIS ROOM REVEAL

After the holiday break I told a small white lie--that I didn't really do much over the break but sit around, read books, watch movies and relax a bit.  Well, that was partially true.  But, I also spent some time redecorating my daughter's bedroom. It was time for Renee and her twin sister, Siena, to get into their own bedrooms.  Their closet was overflowing and bedtime was becoming really difficult. So, I made her a deal: I'd give her a room with whatever theme she picked. I have to say, I was impressed. She picked a Paris-themed room–and voila!–here it is!

We're still not completely done with it. We want to add a small reading nook with a canopy in the corner, but I'm glad to report that she loves it.

THANKSGIVING TABLE DECOR

Thanksgiving is exactly one week away! Are you hosting this year?  It will just be our immediate family this year, so I'll be keeping things pretty simple. But, if you're looking to do something special or different with your Thanksgiving table, here are a few ideas:

COLORFUL RUSTIC TABLE FROM THAT'S WHAT (CHE) SAID
Love the bright colors and the cute napkin rings. A nice change from the traditional orange and browns we usually see at this time of year.

SHIMMERY FALL TABLE FROM KEVIN & AMANDA
If you're more of a glam girl, this table is easy to replicate by mod podging fine glitter onto vases and craft pumpkins.  The decor will certainly carry over through Christmas.

SILHOUETTE THANKSGIVING KIDS TABLE FROM MIRABELLE CREATIONS
I have to admit, I was never a huge fan of silhouettes, but they totally work here. The silhouettes give the decor a historical/nostalgic feel, and of course they look so cute as child pilgrims.  The black and white color palette is also indicative of the simple pilgrim style and is a nice departure from all the cutesy characters we usually see for kids tables. The printables are available at Mirabelle Creations.

NATURAL GOLD TABLE SETTING FROM A PLACE FOR US
Along the same lines of a more subtle palette, I love this table setting with its natural elements. The addition of the cotton is a fun and different natural element to bring to the decor–and will probably be very much a conversation piece! The gold accents give it a holiday sparkle.
